What’s Cooking Wednesday – Carmelitas

This recipe comes from a neighbor who brought them to a pot luck and they were devoured (which is why I had to steal a picture from the Pillsbury site, although my neighbor’s recipe is slightly different from theirs). They’re super yummy good.

Ingredients
1 c + 3 T flour
1 c quick oats
¾ c brown sugar
½. t baking soda
¼ t salt
¾ c melted butter
1c caramel topping (12 oz jar)
1c chocolate chips
1 c chopped walnuts

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350° (325° for glass).
In large mixing bowl, combine 1 c flour with oats, sugar, soda & salt. Add melted butter and beat at low speed until well mixed.
Spread into 13” x 9” pan. Bake 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, stir caramel topping and 3 T flour until well mixed.
Remove pan from oven; sprinkle with chocolate chips and walnuts. Drizzle with topping.
Return to oven and bake until brown (approx. 20 – 25 min). Cool before cutting.
